Dabeerpura police arrested five persons in connection with a dacoity case, with four of them identified as habitual offenders.
Hyderabad:Dabeerpura police arrested five persons in connection with a dacoity case, with four of them identified as habitual offenders. Two other suspects remain absconding. The arrested are Abdullah, 22, Ayub, 29, Sohail Khan, 23, Syed Omeir, 25, and Shareef Osama Yamani, 17, a juvenile. The absconding suspects are Fareed and Vishal.
The incident occurred when the victim, Mohammed Wahajuddin, a bike rider, was ambushed after he stopped his vehicle near Seven Temple to drink beer. The accused forcibly took `5,000, his ATM card and withdrew `3,000 using threats. They also stole his mobile phone.
Based on credible information, the police apprehended the suspects near Yakutpura Railway Station on Thursday. Recovered items include the victim’s mobile phone, `3,000 cash and six other mobile phones. During the investigation, police linked some of the accused to a bike theft case from early February and recovered a two-wheeler from them. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding suspects.
