The deceased, Shegam Thirupati and Reddy Madhunaiah, were members of the same family.
An Indiramma housing grant had been sanctioned to Panakanti Srinivas, who hired the two men to demolish his old house so that a new one could be built on the site. The workers succumbed to their injuries en route to Chennur for treatment.
