Hyderabad: Kukatpally police arrested 14 persons for allegedly gambling near Hanuman Chowk, Moosapet at 1 am on Friday. They were playing te banned three-card game, the police said. Around Rs 1.71 lakh cash and 15 mobile phones were recovered from their possession. A case was registered at the Kukatpally police station in this matter and an investigation is underway.
Mother, daughter killed in acccident Truck hits bike, killed two
Hyderabad:A three-year-old girl and her mother were killed on the Bandlaguda road in Mailardevpally at about 11.30 on Thursday, when a truck hit their two-wheeler. The victims were identified as Ruksana Begum, 27, and her daughter Shifa.
The others injured in the accident were Ruksana’s four-year-old son, Muzamil, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital and her husband Waseem Ahmed who was also injured is now in a stable condition.
Mailardevpally inspector P. Narender said the family was returning home in Chandrayangutta from Langar Houz when the accident occurred.
Alert locals caught hold of the driver and called the police and an ambulance to take the victims to hospital. Police said the lorry driver tried to overtake the bike from the left, causing the two-wheeler rider to lose control and fall under the heavy vehicle.
