Renowned Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award. The announcement came today as the Government of India revealed the list of Padma Awardees ahead of Republic Day. Balakrishna received this recognition for his outstanding contributions to the field of art.
This year, a total of 139 Padma Awards were announced, including 113 Padma Shri, 19 Padma Bhushan, and seven Padma Vibhushan recipients. Alongside Balakrishna, Dr. Duvvuri Nageshwar Reddy from Telangana was also awarded the Padma Bhushan for his remarkable contributions to medicine and healthcare.
In Tollywood, past recipients of the Padma Bhushan include prominent actors such as Chiranjeevi, Krishna, and Mohan Babu.
