Yogi Adityanath Meets PM Modi In Delhi Ahead Of UP Assembly Elections

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, chief minister Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Saturday seeking guidance to steer the BJP for a third consecutive term in power in the state.
On Friday, Adityanath held talks with the Union home minister Amit Shah at Greater Noida. Besides focusing on the ongoing “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan” to mark the Prime Minister’s 25 years in public life, sources said that the meeting also delved on organisational preparedness and grassroots mobilisation for next year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office said, “Chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
“Today, I had the privilege of a courtesy meeting with the world’s most popular politician, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, in New Delhi. Your guidance always gives me renewed energy for the creation of ‘New Uttar Pradesh’. Heartfelt thanks, Prime Minister ji, for providing your invaluable time,” Adityanath posted on X.
The chief minister also met former BJP president and Union health minister J.P. Nadda.
The meeting comes a day after Adityanath and Shah attended the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026 in Greater Noida. At the trade show, Shah highlighted the investment climate in Uttar Pradesh and credited the Adityanath-led BJP government for improving the law-and-order situation in the state.
Sources said that more meetings were lined up with Shah and the party president Nitin Nabin to discuss and review Uttar Pradesh poll preparations.
Adityanath, sources said, will discuss upcoming Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council polls in the state.
Apart from Rajya Sabha and Assembly polls, the BJP leadership is reviewing several internal surveys and feedback collected from different sources at ground level to identify key areas requiring extra focus and working on strategies to strengthen ground presence while effectively countering aggressive Opposition poll campaigns,” sources said.
Currently, the Uttar Pradesh BJP unit is undertaking the month-long “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan” from September 17 to October 17, commemorating Modi’s 25 years in public service.
Sources said that meetings between BJP central leaderships and the chief minister discussed organisational activities in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls, with focus on grassroots mobilisation and better coordination between government and organisation.
