President Murmu Embarks On Three-nation Tour To Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania
President Murmu’s visit to Moldova will be on July 20 during which she will hold delegation level talks with her counterpart Ms. Maia Sandu. She will also interact with members of the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, address a Business Forum and have interactions with the members of the Indian Community
New Delhi: President Ms Droupadi Murmu on Sunday embarked on state visits to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania from July 19 to 25. This is the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova and North Macedonia while the visit to Romania by the President of India is taking place after a gap of over three decades.
The External Affairs Ministry said that the state visit to three countries by President Murmu reflects India’s commitment of strengthening its bilateral ties with these countries along with engagement with the wider Eastern European region. Agreements to increase cooperation in agriculture, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, Information Technology and education sectors are on cards during the President’s visit.

During the President's visit to North Macedonia from July 21-22 she will hold bilateral talks with President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, meet the Prime Minister Mr. Hristijan Mickoski, President of the Assembly and address the Assembly of North Macedonia. She will also address India - North Macedonia Business Forum. Both sides have keen interest in deepening economic ties in the priority sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals science and technology, IT and ITES.
At the invitation of Mr. Nicușor Dan, President of Romania, Ms Murmu will visit Romania from July 23 – 25. This would be the first visit by the President of India, after a gap of over three decades. During the visit, President Murmu will meet Mr. Nicușor Dan, President of Romania, Mr. Ilie Bolojan, interim Prime Minister of Romania, Mr. Mircea Abrudean, President of the Senate, and Mr. Sorin Grindeanu, President of the Chamber of Deputies, as well as members of the Romania–India Parliamentary Friendship Group. President Murmu will also address India-Romania Business Forum and have interaction with the members of the Indian community.
