ED Chargesheet Naming Sonia, Rahul In National Herald Case is Vendetta Politics: Congress
She also termed the ED chargesheet in the case as a ‘political vendetta’ unleashed by the BJP against the Gandhi family.

Bhopal: AICC general secretary and former Union minister Kumari Selja on Monday termed the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) naming former Congress presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, as ‘vendetta politics.’
The ED chargesheet, filed recently, accused the mother-son duo along with some other Congress leaders of money laundering related to the National Herald case.
Ms. Selja while addressing a presser here described the ED action as a ploy by the BJP and the NDA government at the Centre to divert the attention of the people from the failures of the Central government.
“It is a diversionary tactic by the BJP as well as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to shift the attention of the people from the pressing issues facing the country”, the Congress leader said.
She also termed the ED chargesheet in the case as a ‘political vendetta’ unleashed by the BJP against the Gandhi family.
The press conference was part of the strategy by the Congress to launch a campaign across 57 cities in the country to generate awareness among the people on the National Herald case by arranging pressers by 57 senior Congress leaders across the country.
Ms. Selja has accused BJP of launching a false propaganda by using the Central agencies like ED to taint the image of Gandhi family in the public.
She said the transfer of liability of a company to a new company is not illegal and it does not make a money laundering case.
Similar thing has happened in the National Herald case, she said.
“The Central agencies are being used as tools by the Centre to harass the Opposition leaders”, she alleged.
