Bhopal: The principal and the librarian, both females, of a government-run school in Madhya Pradesh’ Khargone district got into a fight over a ‘silly matter’, leaving the onlookers who included staff and kin of one of them, shocked and stunned.
The physical fight between them that took place inside the school was captured in a mobile phone camera and later made viral on social media, prompting the local administration to initiate disciplinary action against them.
The unsavory incident took place in the Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya in Khargone last week, police said.
It involved principal of the school Praveen Dahiya and librarian Madhu Rani.
In the video, the two women were seen slapping each other, pulling each other’s hairs, and then pushing each other while a boy, not seen in the clip, was heard pleading ‘Mom, rahne do (let it be)’.
The boy seems to be the son of one of the two women.
The clip shows the principal and the librarian engaged in heated exchanges over some issue which later escalated into a physical fight.
The principal was seen in the video smashing the mobile phone of the librarian prompting the latter to protest saying ‘How dare you’.
Later, the librarian was seen trying to snatch the mobile phone of the principal, leading the latter to slap her.
The slapping incident further escalated the situation with both of them being seen in the clip pulling each other’s hairs and engaging in physical fight.
Later, a woman was seen in the video intervening to separate them.
The fight between them was said to be over distribution of books to the students.
Both the women later filed a complaint against each other in the Manegaon police station in Khargone.
Later, the assistant commissioner of Khargone tribal welfare department Prashant Arya removed them from their posts and attached them to his office pending a departmental enquiry into the incident.
