West Bengal Governor Gets New Secy Before 1st BJP Govt Formation

The 2002-batch IAS officer was serving as the state transport secretary for the last three years.

Kolkata: In a first bureaucratic reshuffle after the end of the Trinamul Congress-rule in West Bengal, senior IAS officer Soumitra Mohan was appointed as secretary to governor RN Ravi on Tuesday.

The 2002-batch IAS officer was serving as the state transport secretary for the last three years. He was spared from transfer by the Election Commission during the Assembly Election. His appointment comes ahead of the formation of a new government by the BJP.

Meanwhile, state advocate general Kishor Dutta tendered his resignation to Mr Ravi. Earlier in the day, Mr Ravi and his wife Laxmi visited Kalighat Temple and offered puja.
