VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) chairman M.V. Pranav Gopal announced plans to establish an international standard skateboarding park at VMRDA Park in a run-up to the 2026 National Games. Along with Visakhapatnam West MLA Ganababu and VMRDA commissioner K.S. Viswanathan, the VMRDA chief visited the skating rinks at VUDA Park on Saturday. They said this new venue would support competitions organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Roller Skating Association.

They provided detailed engineering guidelines to ensure the venue includes all required player amenities and state-of-the-art features. This project aims to enhance local talent while offering global exposure, they noted.
