Uddhav Wants to Turn Mumbai into 'Mohammed Land', Says BJP Minister Nitesh Rane
Rane also alleged that the Bangladeshi and Rohingya population in Mumbai increased during Uddhav’s rule in Mumbai.

Mumbai: Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane on Friday hit back at Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray saying Mumbai will turn into Mohammad Land if the latter comes to power in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
“Uddhav Mamu says that if the Mahayuti alliance comes to power, they will change Mumbai’s name back to Bombay. This is simply not possible. But if Uddhav Mamu comes to power, he will definitely turn Mumbai into Mohammed Land,” said Rane on X.
His remarks came a day after Uddhav had claimed that the BJP will restore the city’s name to Bombay if voted to power in Mumbai. He said that if the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance comes to power, Mumbai’s very existence would be endangered. The alliance would change Mumbai’s name back to Bombay, he added. Thackeray had accused the BJP of plotting to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra.
Rane also alleged that the Bangladeshi and Rohingya population in Mumbai increased during Uddhav’s rule in Mumbai.
“Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena was different and Uddhav’s is different. Balasaheb Thackeray worked to keep the Marathi people and the Hindu community safe in Mumbai. But the next generation did exactly the opposite. Earlier, it was said that Mumbai exists because of the Shiv Sena. But now a new equation has emerged: because of Uddhav Thackeray, there are Bangladeshis and Rohingyas (in Mumbai),” said Rane, who is a minister of fisheries and port development.
According to a report, the number of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas is increasing in Mumbai, which is under Uddhav Thackeray’s rule. There is a fear that this percentage will increase even more by 2030, he added.
