Kakinada: Palakollu police arrested three thieves – Godi Satish Kumar alias Satish (35) of Anand Nagar, Rajamahendravaram, Mandela Naga Bhaskara Rao alias Baby (37) of Chintada Garuvu village in Amalapuram of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district and Kothapalli Suresh (37) of Narsapur in West Godavari – and recovered Rs 16 lakh worth property, including gold ornaments, from them. Palakollu circle inspector D. Rambabu said when Palakollu sub-inspector S.N. Muthyala Rao and his team were searching vehicles, three persons riding a bike towards Bhimavaram turned back on seeing the police team.
However, police caught and interrogated them. They revealed that they were going to Bhimavaram to sell gold ornaments stolen by them from within the limits of Palakollu town, Palakollu Rural, Poduru, Yalamanchili, Veeravasaram, Palakoderu, Narsapuram, Narsapuram Rural and Mogalturu police stations.
Police recovered Rs 16 lakh worth jewellery, including Rs 14 lakh worth 30 sovereigns of gold, gold ornaments worth Rs 1.50 lakh and one motor bike worth Rs 50,000. Palakollu police have registered a case.
