L-G Manoj Sinha highlighted remarkable spiritual and cultural connection between the two regions, noting that both J&K and Telangana are revered as sacred lands of Lord Shiva

Srinagar: Telangana Statehood Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Jammu and Kashmir Lok Bhavan on Tuesday, in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha highlighted what he said was a remarkable spiritual and cultural connection between the two regions, noting that both J&K and Telangana are revered as sacred lands of Lord Shiva. "This shared spiritual heritage,” he observed, "serves as a unifying thread that binds the diverse cultural fabric of the nation".
In his address, the Lt. Governor paid rich tributes to the vibrant literary legacy of Telangana, underscoring its contribution to Indian literature and social awakening. He reflected on the influence of literary stalwarts from the region. He further acknowledged the immense contributions of the people of Telangana across various fields — farmers, soldiers, scientists, entrepreneurs, poets, and artists — all of whom have played a crucial role in nation-building and progress. He mentioned the 11th-century compositions of Malliya Rechanna and freedom fighters Ramji Gond and Komaram Bheem.
Concluding his address, the Lt. Governor called upon citizens to draw strength from India’s rich diversity and shared cultural heritage. He urged everyone to celebrate unity in diversity and to collectively strive towards a future marked by prosperity, harmony, and inclusive growth.
