Kurnool: The Telugu Desam has expressed apprehensions about the safety of ballot boxes kept in the strong rooms of sub-treasury offices in Aluru, Adoni, Mantralayam, Yemmiganur, Kodumur, Kurnool and Pathikonda.
TD Kurnool parliament segment in-charge P. Thikka Reddy said as there is no proper security at these places, the ballot boxes must be shifted to strong rooms in Kurnool city.
Joint collector N. Mourya maintained that the strong rooms in the respective constituencies are well guarded by armed men and are hence safe.
The joint collector said they have, however, agreed to arrange CCTV surveillance at the places, considering the requests of the opposition candidates.
