ANANTAPUR: The Telugu Desam (TD) has decided to hold its annual Mahanadu in Kadapa district from May 27. The three-day event will take place at Pabbapuram village in C.K. Dinne mandal, close to Kadapa headquarters.

Although there were initial plans to host the event in Pulivendula, Jagan’s hometown, the venue was finalised at Pabbapuram due to its accessibility to people from Kadapa, Annamayya, Tirupati, Chittoor, Anantapur, and even Hyderabad.

On Sunday, TD leaders including MLCs Beeda Ravichandra and Ramgopal Reddy, senior leader Satyanarayana Raju, and vastu expert Jayarami Reddy inspected the proposed site.

As part of the preparations, local MLA Puths Krishna Chaitanya Reddy obtained consent from nearby farmers to use their lands for parking and other event-related arrangements.

Party leaders said the bhumi pooja will be performed on May 7 to mark the beginning of preparations for the Mahanadu.
