Suvendu Warns Kabir Of Arrest For Inciting Speech

Mr Adhikari said during the discussion of one of the three bills in the House, “Enough is enough. Time has come to teach such people a lesson.

Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari warned Aam Janata Unnayan Party founder and Nowda MLA Humayun Kabir on Monday of getting arrested for making controversial comments against him, his party workers and police recently.

Mr Adhikari said during the discussion of one of the three bills in the House, “Enough is enough. Time has come to teach such people a lesson. I am warning you against making such remarks. Control yourself, withdraw such statements and think at least 25 times before making such remarks in future.”

He added, “No one has given you the power to talk like this. You may think that a case has been registered but the actions will merely follow. But I assure that those, who called him, will be picked up first. Then I will reach you. I will do whatever is necessary.” The CM then sarcastically urged the House to treat Mr Kabir's comments as “his last statement.”

Mr Kabir triggered a huge controversy after he allegedly threatened BJP workers to “tone down” in Murshidabad, otherwise, he would mobilize his followers from his community on the streets in such large numbers that no one would be left to carry the ruling party's flags in the district.
