Bhubaneswar: In a shocking turn of events, a trip to the school toilet turned into a nightmare for a student in Balasore after a stray dog suddenly attacked him inside the campus and bit off one of his fingers.

The incident took place at Satyanarayan Government Nodal High School in Rasalpur under Khantapada police limits in Balasore district.
According to reports, the student was heading towards the school toilet on Tuesday when a stray dog suddenly attacked him. During the attack, the dog reportedly bit off one of the student’s fingers, leaving him seriously injured. The little boy has also suffered injuries on his hands and legs.
His condition reportedly deteriorated following the attack, after which he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
The incident has caused concern among students, parents and local residents, raising questions about the presence of stray dogs inside the school campus.
Following the incident, tension prevailed on the school premises. Angry villagers expressed their displeasure over how stray dogs were able to enter the school campus and pose a threat to students.
As a mark of protest, villagers reportedly locked the school gate. They have raised concerns over the safety of children and demanded immediate steps to prevent stray dogs from entering the premises.
