Speeding Car Runs Over Woman, Four Children in Kota, Driver Absconding
A 55-year-old woman and four children were seriously injured after being hit by a speeding car in Kota, with the driver Chirag Jangid currently on the run
A tragic incident occurred on May 8 when a speeding car ran over a 55-year-old woman and four children outside a house in Kota, Rajasthan. The shocking accident was captured on CCTV footage, which showed the car dragging the victims for nearly 10 feet. The woman, identified as Indra Bai, and the children, aged between 7 and 11, sustained severe injuries.
The incident took place around 9 PM when Indra Bai was sitting outside her house in Ajay Ahuja Nagar. Her 7-year-old grandson, Vivaan, and niece Yashika, 11, were playing nearby along with two other children from the neighborhood—Vaishali, 8, and her cousin Anisha, 10. While the children were occupied with their bicycle, a speeding car hit them, causing serious injuries to all the victims.
In the CCTV footage, the car, driven by Chirag Jangid, was seen speeding and dragging the victims for nearly 10 feet before it finally came to a stop. Local residents rushed to the scene, and the injured were taken to a nearby private hospital in Vigyan Nagar. Indra Bai suffered a severe head injury and is undergoing surgery, while Yashika underwent a five-hour surgery for injuries to her head and hand. Vivaan sustained injuries to his hand, nose, and mouth. Vaishali suffered a fractured arm and back injuries, and Anisha sustained injuries to her arms and legs.
A case has been registered against the driver, Chirag Jangid, following a complaint filed by Hemant Rathore, the primary complainant, along with Bunty Rathore and Manoj Mehra. However, Jangid is currently absconding, and the police are actively searching for him.
The incident has left the community in shock, and the authorities are taking steps to ensure that the driver is brought to justice.
