Sougata New TMC Lok Sabha Deputy Leader

Kolkata: Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Friday appointed veteran party MP Sougata Roy as the TMC deputy leader in Lok Sabha in place of Kalyan Banerjee. The party posted on X-handle, “The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) under the guidance and inspiration of Hon'ble Party Chairperson Smt. @MamataOfficial is pleased to announce Prof. Saugata Roy as the new Deputy Leader of the AITC Parliamentary Party in Lok Sabha. He is one of the senior most Parliamentarians in the country and has a wealth of knowledge. We wish him the very best for his tenure as the new Deputy Leader.” Mr Roy came in place of Birbhum MP Satabdi Roy who switched to Nationalist Citizens Party of India recently.
