New Delhi: Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Gangaram Hospital on Sunday and advised to continue treatment at her residence. The senior Congress leader was admitted to the hospital on the evening of January 5 under the care of Dr Arup Basu, senior consultant in chest medicine, following an exacerbation of bronchial asthma caused by a chest infection.
Dr Ajay Swaroop, chairman of the Board of Management at Sir Gangaram Hospital, said Mrs Gandhi responded well to treatment and showed good recovery. “She has been discharged from the hospital and advised to continue further treatment at her residence,” he said.
