Security Tightened At Dipke’s Home As Opposition Voices Support For CJP Protest
A senior police official said security had been strengthened outside Dipke's residence to prevent unnecessary gatherings following his arrival in India

Mumbai: Police intensified security on Saturday at the Maharashtra residence of Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the online movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Additional personnel were deployed in the Waluj MIDC area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after Dipke arrived in Delhi earlier in the day ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar.
A senior police official said security had been strengthened outside Dipke's residence to prevent unnecessary gatherings following his arrival in India. At present, Dipke's parents are not staying at the family home in the Waluj area.
Pravin Pawar, Commissioner of Police, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, confirmed to this newspaper that five security personnel had been deployed outside Dipke's residence.
Dipke arrived in Delhi on Saturday ahead of the planned demonstration and urged supporters to maintain discipline and ensure that the protest remained peaceful.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut said that a peaceful protest by the country's youth at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak and other issues should be welcomed. “We should welcome the protest as we are a democratic country,” he said.
Raut also alleged that the government was attempting to suppress the protest by deploying police personnel. He claimed to have received information that authorities were blocking the movement of young people at railway stations and airports to prevent them from reaching the protest venue. “Why is the government afraid of the Cockroaches?” he asked.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader further made a sarcastic remark, saying that Chief Justice of India Surya Kant had “recognised the Cockroach” because, according to him, the judge had become a symbol for the movement's supporters. “The CJI should be accorded the Bharat Ratna for awakening the youth of this country,” he said sarcastically.
