Sai Pledges Rural Bus Service, Raipur Police Commissionerate In Independence Day Address

RAIPUR: Introduction of police Commissionerate system in Raipur, and rural bus service in tribal belt of Chhattisgarh were among the pledges made by chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai while taking salute at the state-level Independence Day parade here on Friday.
In his Independence Day address, Mr. Sai announced that a police Commissionerate system would be introduced in Raipur to handle the growing challenge of law and order in the state capital.
Sources said the draft of the police Commissionerate system in Raipur district is being given the final shape.
Mr. Sai further declared that a rural bus service, named Mukhyamantri Gramin Bus Seva, would soon be introduced in the tribal regions of Bastar and Surguja in the state.
The chief minister inaugurated the ‘Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav’, marking 25 years of statehood, and paid tribute to freedom fighters Saheed Gend Singh, Veer Narayan Singh, Hanuman Singh, and Veer Gundadhur, on the occasion.
He announced plans for an Education City and Science City in Nava Raipur, skill development Centres in all 32 blocks in Bastar, and a startup policy to support 150 startups and 50,000 students.
Mr. Sai also announced plans to implement infrastructure projects including Rs 50,000 crore Bodhghat multipurpose project, producing 200 MW of power and expanding irrigation to seven lakh hectares, new rail lines in Bastar, expressways, and solar energy initiatives.
He said that the state had received investment proposals worth Rs 6.5 lakh crore.
