S S Rajamouli Wraps Up Big Action Sequences Of Varanasi

Noted director SS Rajamouli is currently working on his most ambitious project, Varanasi, headlined by superstar Mahesh Babu. He recently participated in the Annecy Animation Festival’s work-in-progress panel to promote Baahubali: The Eternal War. Following the event, Rajamouli spoke to Variety and revealed crucial details about Varanasi.
"What I can say is we have completed a major portion of the shoot. All the important, big spectacle action sequences are done. We are [now] into doing the smaller, interconnecting scenes, so hopefully, by September, maybe a little bit into October, we should be finishing shooting,” said Rajamouli.
No doubt, Rajamouli is looking to score another Worldwide hit with Varanasi and he is banking on mythological episodes revolving around Lord Rama and blending it with futuristic story. After conquering world viewers with Baahubali and RRR, the Telugu director is looking to expand his fan base with Varanasi. He is mostly interacting with international media at international forums to boost his chances.
