Ready To Engage For Peace: Pakistan PM
New Delhi has already made it clear that Operation Sindoor is still on and that India will not succumb to any nuclear blackmail by Pakistan. India has also clearly stated that the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) with Pakistan continues to be in abeyance till Pakistan abjures cross-border terrorism.

New Delhi: As India and Pakistan hold on to an "uneasy" ceasefire, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that he is ready to engage for peace but with Kashmir on the plate. External affairs minister S. Jaishankar, however, categorically ruled out any talks with Pakistan unless it is on the issue of stopping Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). India has, during Operation Sindoor, already made it clear that any communication between the two countries will only be at the level of the Director General of Military Operation (DGMO) of the two armies and not at any political level.
During his visit to Kamra air base in Pakistan's Punjab province, Mr Sharif said, “We are ready to talk with it (India) for peace.” He then went on to add that the "conditions for peace" include the Kashmir issue.
On its part, India has made it clear that Islamabad has to dismantle its terror infrastructure, abjure cross-border terrorism and hand over the dreaded terrorists it is sheltering to India. Meanwhile, India is keeping a hawk’s eye on developments in Pakistan amid doubts that the understanding reached between New Delhi and Islamabad last week to halt firing could be utilised by Islamabad to replenish its weaponry stockpile and regroup terrorists operating from its soil.

Besides, New Delhi is also keeping a close watch over the role of Pakistan’s close friend Turkey, which had allegedly supplied its drones, including the Songar drone, in planeloads of consignments even after India had launched Operation Sindoor to target terror bases inside Pakistan, including in Pakistani Punjab.
New Delhi had, earlier on Thursday, deferred a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the new Turkish ambassador-designate, among other envoys, was to present his credentials to President Droupadi Murmu.
According to recent news agency reports, the new envoys of Turkey, Bangladesh, Thailand, Costa Rica and St Kitts were to have presented their credentials at the ceremony. However, the government sources had maintained that the ceremony was “deferred due to scheduling reasons”.
