Ready to Appear if Summoned, Will Co-Operate With ED: Priyanka Gandhi

Says BJP’s charges are ‘lies’, questions delay in her ED summons

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations against her family, accusing the government of misusing probe agencies for political purposes. She also said she is ready to appear before the ED and is “waiting for an invitation.”

Priyanka alleged that Modi is acting on poor advice and that the public is aware of the political motives behind the ED's actions. "My mother, brother, and husband have fully cooperated with the ED. If I am summoned, I will go. What are they waiting for?" she said.

Taking a jibe at BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj who carried a bag with "National Herald ki loot" written on it, Priyanka asked sarcastically, “Is she keeping the loot in her bag?”

She dismissed BJP’s allegations of property grab in the National Herald case, saying, “No one can sell or inherit those assets—they are not in our names. So how is it a grab?”

On Robert Vadra’s repeated questioning, she claimed the agency even asked irrelevant things like why he gave Rs 4 lakh to his mother in 2007.

She reiterated that the ED is being used for “extortion and political reasons” and that Modi’s strategy “isn’t working.”
