Raut Calls PM Modi ‘Foreign Toolkit’

Modi’s actions and policies were influenced by foreign nations: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday countered the BJP’s criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “foreign toolkit” allegedly operated by countries such as the United States and Israel.

Raut claimed that Modi’s actions and policies were influenced by foreign nations, including the United States and Israel.

“It is not Rahul Gandhi, but Narendra Modi who is the country’s biggest ‘foreign toolkit’. Out of his 12 years in power, he spent six years travelling the world; he only visits India occasionally. The people who operate Narendra Modi are from countries such as the US and Israel,” Raut said.

His remarks came after BJP national president Nitin Nabin launched an attack on Gandhi on Saturday, accusing him of acting as a pawn of a “foreign toolkit gang” and working against India’s national interests.

Calling Gandhi “a true son of the soil”, Raut said the Congress leader was working to restore the self-respect of the people of the country. Therefore, the term “foreign toolkit” applied perfectly to Modi, he added.

The Rajya Sabha MP claimed that the BJP-led government at the Centre was a dictatorial regime that had come to power illegally, with the complicity of Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar.

“Across the globe, there will be a massive backlash against Modi, Gyanesh Kumar and (Union Home Minister) Amit Shah; their true, ugly faces will be exposed. Their masks have fallen off. From now on, whenever Modi travels abroad, he will have to hire people just to chant his name. Those who murder democracy are never respected anywhere in the world,” Raut said.

The Sena (UBT) leader also claimed that a change of power would happen soon.

“If we are striving to save democracy and topple this government, we are acting in the national interest. Together — Rahul Gandhi, Uddhav Thackeray, Mamata Banerjee and the rest of us — we will bring this government down. A regime that bans the hoisting of the Tricolour must be overthrown. A change of power is inevitable — it will happen, no matter what,” he asserted.

On Saturday, addressing a gathering in Patna, Nabin alleged that Gandhi and his team were unable to accept India’s progress under Modi’s leadership and were attempting to undermine the country’s development narrative.

“The Opposition, especially the Congress, is insulting the people’s mandate by blaming electoral institutions for its defeats. Rahul Gandhi is acting as a pawn of a foreign toolkit gang and working against India’s national interests,” he said.
