Prashant Kishor Declares Rs 96 Crore Assets in Bankipur Bypoll Affidavit

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has declared assets worth Rs 96.06 crore, while his wife, Dr Jahanvi Das, owns assets valued at Rs 101.93 crore, according to the election affidavit filed with his nomination for the Bankipur Assembly bypoll in Bihar.
Kishor, who filed his nomination on Monday, has declared movable assets worth Rs 22.19 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 73.87 crore. His wife has declared movable assets of Rs 89.51 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 12.42 crore.
A major share of Kishor's wealth comes from his 100 per cent stake in Vedhas Ventures Private Limited, valued at around Rs 95.26 crore. His financial assets also include more than Rs 7.36 crore in fixed deposits and market-linked investments.
His immovable assets include a dismantled rice mill spread across more than three acres in Bihar's Rohtas district, residential properties in Patna's Patliputra Colony, New Delhi's Vasant Vihar and Ghaziabad, besides a share in ancestral property.
The affidavit places the combined declared assets of Kishor and his wife at nearly Rs 198 crore.
The Bankipur bypoll marks Kishor's maiden electoral contest after spending over a decade as a political strategist. He is contesting against BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha in the constituency, considered a BJP stronghold.
Polling for the Bankipur Assembly bypoll is scheduled for July 30, while the counting of votes will take place on August 3.
