YSRC condemns attack attempt on Chandrababu Naidu

Vijayawada: The ruling YSR Congress, which blamed the Telugu Desam for Saturday’s attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has condemned the stone pelting on TD chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, the YSRC said, “We strongly condemn the attack on @ncbn. We request the @ECISVEEP to initiate an impartial and unbiased inquiry into the incident and punish the responsible officials.”

Meanwhile addressing a press meet on Sunday, YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the attempt on the CM was a pre-planned, premeditated, cold-blooded attack. “Who would have planned such an attempt? It stems from the insecurity that the TD is experiencing. They are witnessing the massive response our leader is getting through the poll campaign, through the road shows and Siddham Sabhas.”

Ramakrishna Reddy said that the spot where the object hit the CM was sensitive. “It could have severely affected Jagan Reddy’s eye. If the hit was at the temple, it would even have been fatal. Yet, despite these realities, the TD is attempting to downplay the incident due to fears of exposure, and it is making inhumane comments.”

He said. "A separate police team has been formed to investigate the incident. As we are in the election phase, everything is under the control of the ECI. We are also making a representation to ECI so they can expedite the inquiry to unearth the facts. We firmly believe that the accusing fingers are pointed at the Telugu Desam Party, and we are focused on a thorough investigation process."
