Naidu says TD-JS alliance will grab power in AP

Vijayawada: Sounding confident that the Telugu Desam-Jana Sena alliance would be elected to power in AP, Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu called upon the people to support the alliance and safeguard their interests.

Addressing a public meeting held at Gudivada in Krishna district on Thursday, Naidu said, “I appeal to workers from the TD-JS to meet the people in the next 83 days and urge them to vote for us. Work hard and do a door-to-campaign.”

Referring to the YSRC changing nearly 90 MLAs and introducing fresh faces the next elections, Naidu said even if Jagan Mohan Reddy changed all his MLAs, the YSRC would not be elected to power.

On the Chief Minister’s slogan, ‘Why Not 175?’, Naidu asked as to why Jagan Mohan Reddy should be elected to power from Pulivendula segment as he has reneged on his poll promises on several issues.

Naidu slammed Gudivada MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao for the use of abusive language and promoting a Casino culture. He said Machilipatnam MLA Perni Venkataramaiah was involved in irregularities in land deals.

He also took potshots at finance minister Buggana Rajendranath for raising state debts to a level of `13 lakh crore and asked him, who would clear them, if not the people?

The TD chief castigated the YSRC government for enhancing power charges and causing a rise in the prices of essential commodities and liquor and for levying a garbage tax. He said the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government imposed a financial burden ranging from `4 lakh to `6 lakh on each family in the state during its rule.

He said Jagan Mohan Reddy caused a delay in execution of the Polavaram irrigation project and was avoiding development of Amaravati as the capital city by proposing three capitals for AP.

Naidu promised to annul the Land Tilling Act once the TD-JS alliance formed the government and reiterated that his government would introduce a series of welfare schemes as was stated in the TD manifesto.
