Modi Congratulates New Iraq PM Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi on assuming office as Prime Minister of Iraq.

In a post on X, Mr Modi remarked that India highly values its longstanding and friendly ties with Iraq and remains firmly committed to further strengthening bilateral ties in all areas.

“Heartiest congratulations to Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi on assuming office as Prime Minister of Iraq. India highly values its longstanding and friendly ties with Iraq and remains firmly committed to further strengthening our bilateral ties in all areas. I extend my best wishes tohim and look forward to working together for the shared progress and prosperity of our two nations,” Modi posted on X.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said India can play ‘greater role’ for peace in West Asia. He added Iran is ready to help pass all vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, adding the situation in Strait of Hormuz is very complicated now
