MLC Polls: Revanth Meets Left Leaders, Kodandaram

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday convened a meeting with CPI, CPM and Telangana Jana Samithi leaders and discussed with them the May 27 Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam MLC byelection. The constituency covers the areas seen as strongholds of the Left parties.

The three parties have extended their support to Congress candidate Chintakayala ‘Teenmar Mallanna’ Naveen for the bypoll that covers 34 Assembly seats in the three undivided district area. The Congress had won 30 of those seats in the recent Assembly polls, and BRS MLA Kadiam Srihari joined the party later on.

Later, MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said that during the meeting CPI MLA Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao, CPM leader S. Veeraiah and Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof. M. Kodandaram assured that they would work for the party candidate’s win.

Sambasiva Rao said that Naveen would win the byelection. "We call upon all CPI leaders and cadre to work hard for a Congress win in the graduates MLC elections," he said.

Prof. Kodandaram said that they had extended their support to the Congress in Assembly elections. “We have already made it clear that our support will for the Congress in the MLC elections," he said.

Veeraiah said “We request all graduates to give their first choice vote to Theenmar Mallanna and ensure his election.”
