HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy went ballistic against the BRS on Saturday, stating that its leaders continued to be arrogant despite having been rejected by the people. Addressing the Telangana diaspora in London, Reddy said that the Congress was ready to dig a 100-metre deep grave to bury BRS and its flag after the Lok Sabha elections, in which the Opposition party was bound to draw a blank.
He invited businessmen and investors from the UK to invest in Telangana state and assured them of complete support and cooperation from the state government.
"I came to Davos and London with my team to promote Telangana and seek investments. We were successful in clinching deals worth over `40,000 crore. This is the highest ever investment that the state has secured in Davos. Actually, I had resolved not to speak about local politics while abroad. But after seeing the arrogance of K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao and the way they are speaking against our government for the past four days, I am compelled to speak about politics here," he said.
Referring to their comments that "Tiger KCR is recovering from surgery and will be back soon", Reddy said, "Let the tiger come. I have a cage and our workers have nets. They will capture the tiger and hang it on a tree."
He said he rose to the position of Chief Minister by remaining with the public and fighting on public issues for 20 years.
Referring to Rama Rao, he said, "I have not inherited power or position like you have from your father. People gave me strength and power. I understand people’s problems better as I come from a humble background and I started my political journey as a grass-root level worker."
He said that the BRS leaders were unable to digest the good work done by the Congress government within a few days of coming into power.
“They continue to question us on the implementation of the six guarantees while conveniently forgetting that two schemes have already been launched,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the Congress government will ensure that Hyderabad competes with global cities and not Indian cities. He added that River Musi will be beautified, a la Thames, in the next 36 months.
