Has Differences of Opinion with Some in Congress Leadership: Tharoor

When asked why he was not part of the bypoll campaign, Tharoor said that he was not invited for it as was the practice during the other byelections

Thiruvananthapuram: Shashi Tharoor, a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), stated on Thursday that he has differing opinions with some members of the Congress leadership.

However, he did not elaborate on these differences, particularly in light of the voting in the Nilambur by-election.

The Thiruvananthapuram MP informed reporters that he did not campaign in Nilambur because he was not invited.
Tharoor emphasised that his primary concern is the country's best interests and promised to discuss his viewpoints further once the polling is completed.
In response, the Kerala Congress leadership dismissed Tharoor's claim about not being invited to the by-election campaign. They pointed out that he was included on the list of star campaigners.

According to the list submitted to the Election Commission, Tharoor ranked eighth among 40-star campaigners, released on June 2.

KPCC president Sunny Joseph addressed questions from the media regarding Tharoor's comments, stating, "No special invitations are extended to any leaders for the election campaign. Various leaders from the Congress and UDF partners came to Nilambur to support the front's candidate.

Kasargod MP Rajmohan Unnithan remarked, “No one's wedding is taking place in Nilambur that would justify special invitations. Tharoor's body may be with the Congress, but his allegiance lies with Modi," he alleged.
