THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ruling CPM-led LDF is facing a major rout in the Kerala assembly elections, with the Congress-led UDF ahead in 96 of the 140 seats. The LDF is leading in 42 seats while the BJP is ahead in two constituencies, Nemom and Palakkad.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is trailing by over 600 votes in Dharmadom constituency after the sixth round of counting. Many prominent LDF ministers, including V N Vasavan, R Bindu, Veena George, J Chinchu Rani, Ramachandran Kadanappally, and M B Rajesh, are also behind, as are top Left leaders K K Shailaja and U Prathibha.
