BJP Intensifies Election Campaigns In Assam
Yogi Adityanath Targets Congress And AIUDF

Guwahati: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday intensified election campaign of the BJP led NDA by launching a frontal attack on opposition Congress accusing them of protecting infiltrators thereby threatening the demography of the state.
Asserting that it was the BJP led NDA which can free Assam of infiltrators and prevent a demographic changes, Mr Adityanath said, "The Congress had been in power for 60 years in Assam. But it only encouraged infiltration, violence and riots. It put the local culture and heritage under threat.”
Addressing a rally in Barpeta in support of AGP candidate Dipak Kumar Das, Mr Adityanath alleged, ““The Congress and AIUDF are working together to compromise the culture and heritage of the state.”
He warned that Congress and AIUDF are the mother of infiltration. He asserted that it is the double-engine government that follow the policy of identifying and deporting the infiltrators. He reiterated that the alliance would focus on both development and preservation of heritage. “Assam has witnessed a massive transformation in the last 10 years, and I urge your sustained support for the NDA in this election,” he said, referring to the “virasat-vikas” plank.
He also took a dig at the Congress over the cancellation of its Barpeta candidate’s nomination. He said that the party had fled the battlefield even before the election.
The UP chief minister also reminded that BJP is known for fulfilling its commitment be it the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya or stopping the menace like Love Jihad.
Meanwhile, ruling BJP has stepped up its campaign with senior star campaigners including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, party president Nitin Nabin along with several senior party leaders addressing election rallies across the state. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is addressing at least four-five public rallies everyday.
