No Scope for Sympathy for Naidu: Sajjala

Vijayawada: Adviser to government (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said on Monday that there was no scope for sympathy for former chief minister and Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development case.

He said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court had found sufficient evidence to implicate Naidu in the scam and had remanded him to custody.

Reacting to the Telugu Desam's grand event in Hyderabad on Sunday, Reddy accused the party of trying to use Naidu's arrest as a sympathy ploy in the next elections. He said that the people had already seen through Naidu's game and would not be fooled. He also alleged that a top businessman had funded the event in Hyderabad.

Reddy recalled the arrest of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in 2012 and said that the YSRC had proved that all the cases filed against him were politically motivated. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had never sought sympathy over his arrest and had instead continued to work for the people.

He also claimed that then Congress leaders, along with former CBI joint director V.V. Lakshminarayana, had admitted that there was no corruption in the cases against Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Reddy further said that any political party could survive only if it served the people. He said that the YSRC had been working for the people for the last 13 years and had won a landslide victory in the 2019 elections despite losing the 2014 elections by a narrow margin.
