NELLORE: TD Nellore city assembly segment in-charge Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy on Saturday lied down on the road at NTR Nagar to protest against ruling party leaders threatening TD people from entering the fray in Nellore Municipal Corporation elections.
Srinivasulu Reddy alleged water resources minister P. Anilkumar Yadav ordered an official raid on a catering unit after TD fielded the wife of the caterer from 11th division in Nellore city. He went on to accuse the raiding party of behaving in an objectionable manner with the woman candidate while raiding her husband’s catering unit.
The TD leader objected to ruling party leaders threatening livelihoods of TD candidates, so that they do not contest the municipal elections. “YSRC leaders are stooping low to conquer the civic body owing to fears that they may otherwise lose,” Srinivasulu Reddy stated.
He found fault with Nellore civic body commissioner saying the latter was going by diktats of YSR Congress leaders.
