Multiple reasons led to Jagan's departure from Vizag after attack
Nellore: There were at least three reasons for YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy proceeding to Hyderabad after the recent attack against him at the airport in Visakhapatnam, according to YSRC legislator for Atmakur segment, Mekapati Gautham Reddy, who was present at the airport when the incident took place.
“One reason for heading to Hyderabad was the possibility of another attack (Plan B) on Jagan’s life since the first attack (Plan A) had failed. There was a likelihood of tension and chaos, if Jagan Mohan Reddy was admitted to a hospital at Visakhapat-nam. Above all, we were keen on ensuring the best medical aid which was available in Hyderabad,” Mr Gautham Reddy said pointing out the motive behind rushing to Hyderabad.
He was reacting to the allegations of TD leaders over Jagan Mohan Reddy’s hurried departure from Visakhapatnam after the attack, during an interaction with the media, at his residence on Tuesday.
Referring to his knowledge of first aid, he said the first-aid box had no medicines for such an eventuality and he had cleaned the wound with cotton initially. Expressing wonder over the ill-equipped first-aid facility at such a big airport, he said a lady doctor came and attended to the YSRC chief later.
He said the YSRC chief had maintained his composure all along and he even advised the police not to beat the accused.
He took a dig at the state intelligence wing for its failure to gather information on the impending attack on the opposition leader.
Mr Gautham Reddy also criticised the state police chief for mentioning the links of the accused to YSRC within a few hours after the incident, instead of paying attention to the investigation and the conspiracy behind the attack.
He endorsed the demand from his party leaders for investigation into the case by a third party.
