Congress demands Dalit Bandhu for all beneficiaries across state

Dalits from across Adilabad district participated in the massive dharna staged in front of the collectorate

ADILABAD: The Congress leaders and activists on Monday demanded that the state government implement the Dalit Bandhu scheme across the state without just confining to poll-bound Huzurabad. Women in large numbers attended the dharna. A team of Congress leaders submitted a memorandum on their demands to district collector Sikta Patnaik.

Dalits from across Adilabad district participated in the massive dharna staged in front of the collectorate and submitted their filled applications of Dalit Bandhu to district officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress Adilabad in-charge Gangadhar, TPCC state general secretary Gandrath Sujatha and in-charge DCC president Sajid Khan criticised the state government for not implementing the 2 BHK housing scheme, three-acre land for Dalits and other marginalised sections.

The Congress leaders said the state government should implement Dalit and Girijana Bandhu to all Dalits and tribals and added that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was hoodwinking the people with false promises and tall claims. Congress leaders Bharath Chowhan, Vedma Bojju and Charulatha Rathod also spoke on the occasion.
