Chennai: The BJP boasts of increasing support from the people, especially the youth, fishermen and women. The party believes winning R.K. Nagar by-election is not impossible. Can the saffron party convert Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity and win the constituency?
The party is complacent that its election machinery is totally geared up and is campaigning in the constituency in a systematic manner. The biggest support is its district unit, which has been campaigning in a hectic way for the candidate - popular film music director Gangai Amaran. "Our election strategy is oriented towards convincing the people about the good governance of our Prime Minister and to reject the AIADMK faction and the DMK which are desperate for power," a senior leader said.
On Thursday, the saffron party cruised through the fishermen habitations in Kasimedu. Party state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan who accompanied Mr Amaran, revealed that the Kasimedu fishermen showed huge affection and praised the PM.
