Chennai: The Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP downplayed the entry of Priyanka Gandhi, sister of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, into active politics and said neither Rahul nor his sister can succeed in dislodging the BJP.
Priyanka's plunge into politics would hardly impact the prospects of the BJP at the hustings, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has said.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday she blamed the Congress for poverty in the country and alleged that Congress is deceiving the people with false promises with the intention of coming to power.
Taking strong exception to DMK president M. K. Stalin for "needlessly" criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi she said though her party was yet to reveal plans on forging alliance with any particular party, the DMK leader seemed to un-necessarily target the BJP.
"We will definitely form a mega alliance in Tamil Nadu against the DMK and Congress and register a resounding win," Dr Tamilisai as-serted.
