Chennai: The NCC directorate (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar) was adjudged runners-up in the country among 17 directorates during the Republic Day Camp 2018.
The NCC contingent which will return to Chennai on Feb. 1 will be felicitated by the State government at a function to be held at Kalaivanar Arangam here.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the NCC Rally in New Delhi on Sunday, had awarded the trophy to the directorate. According to an official release from the PIB defence wing here, the NCC directorate also won many team event trophies and individual gold, silver and bronze medals.
The directorate did extremely well in equestrian events and also won silver and bronze medals, the release added.
