Kishan Reddy says CM diverts farmers’ attention
HYDERABAD: Blaming the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government for confusing the farmers in the state by giving false statements, Union minister for tourism G. Kishan Reddy on Monday said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao deliberately diverted the issues by taking up paddy procurement post Huzurabad by-polls.
Speaking to media persons, the tourism minister said the Telangana government gave wrong information to farmers in cultivating crops in the state.
"The Chief Minister made a statement not to cultivate cotton. Later, he asked the farmers not to cultivate paddy. The Chief Minister has no clarity in extending support to farmers and he deliberately made false statements after Huzurabad by-polls," Kishan Reddy said.
The tourism minister also reiterated that the state government wrote to Food Corporation of India officials stating that the Telangana government would not purchase boiled rice keeping in mind the issues prevailing in the state. After submitting the government's opinion, Chandrasekhar Rao created problems in diverting the attention of farmers on the pretext of paddy procurement.
