T Harish Rao to face Election Commission heat over harsh use of language

Hyderabad: Expressing dissatisfaction over the explanation given by caretaker minister T. Harish Rao, the Election Commission has directed TS Chief Electoral officer Rajat Kumar to take action against him as per the election code of conduct.

Following this, the Siddipet district election officer was directed to file an FIR on Mr Harish Rao.The Election Commission issued notice to Mr Harish Rao for using harsh language during his election campaign.

Mr Kumar said that he had forwarded the explanation given by Mr Harish Rao to the Election Commission.

Speaking to this newspaper, Mr Kumar said that after going through Mr Harish Rao’s explanation the Election Commission had directed further action against him.

Accordingly, he had asked the Siddipet district election officer to take necessary action. Mr Harish Rao had lost his cool at Telugu Desam candidate Revuri Prakash Reddy who had alleged that the TRS leader had an eye on the Chief Minister's chair,, and threatened him with dire consequences. Following his outburst, Mr Reddy had moved the Election Commission.
