AP renews efforts to mobile funds through land auctions
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh government is learnt to be making efforts for mobilising funds by auctioning lands owned by the government in various areas.
According to sources, a GO issued by the government in 2012 restricts the government from selling state lands through auctions. Hence, the government has decided to change the norms by amending the 2012 GO and pave way for selling of government lands. Another GO amending the norms had reportedly been issued in second week of October but kept secret.
Sources said the issue of mobilising resources through sale of government lands again came up for discussion in the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday. The cabinet then is understood to have given its consent for auctioning of government lands for mobilising resources.
