Telangana will lose pride if Kutami forms govt, says T Harish Rao
Hyderabad: Irrigaiton minister T. Harish Rao on Friday said that the TRS had no grudge against Seemandhra people residing in Hyderabad or Telangana but their fight was only against Seemandhra leaders who were conspiring against Telangana.
Addressing the media in Medak and Hyderabad, Mr Harish Rao said Telangana would lose its pride and identity if Prajakutami came to power. He cited the TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy waiting for hours in Delhi to secure AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s appointment two days ago to discuss seat adjustments which clearly indicated where Telangana pride and self-respect would stand if Prajakutami won the polls andcame to power.
Mr Rao said the recent outburst of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Andhra parties should not be seen as criticising Seemandhra people but should be viewed as criticism of the TD and Mr Chandrababu Naidu, who was conspiring against Telangana by gaining a “backdoor” entry into Telangana under the guise of the Mahakutami.
Mr Rao urged people of Telangana to remain vigilant against the conspiracies of Mr Naidu saying that if Mahakutami came to power, the government would be in the clutches of Mr Naidu, who would call the shots on all key issues and decisions pertaining to Telangana.
“Do you expect Mr Naidu to allow construction of Kaleshwaram and Palamuru lift irrigation projects if Mahakutami comes to power? Because, he had already written several letters to the Centre against Kalesh-waram and Palamuru projects. As AP CM, he will be more interested in safeguarding the interests of AP. He does not want Kaleshwaram and Palam-uru projects because he wants to take this water downstream to Polavaram in AP to ensure irrigation for third crop in AP,” Mr Harish warned.
