Revanth Reddy show of strength today

Revanth Reddy said he needed to speak to his followers across the state and follow their advice.

Hyderabad: Former TD leader A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday told his followers in Kodangal, which he represents in the Assembly, that he would take a final call on his next political move only on Monday at a meeting of his followers and admirers at a meeting in Hyderabad.

Mr Revanth Reddy announced that the meeting would take place in Jalavihar on Necklace Road. By the evening, he issued another press release stating that the police had denied permission for the meeting, and he had shifted the venue to his residence.

Though there is no suspense about his plans, there is still the formality of his announcement that he would join the Congress. Revanth Reddy said he needed to speak to his followers across the state and follow their advice.

He told a gathering at Kodangal that he would not leave the constituency as was being speculated upon, and would contest from the seat forever. “It is from here that I contested and won twice, ending the ‘dora’ (feudal) rule. Now I will see to it that ‘dora raj’ ends in Telangana state,” Mr Revanth Reddy said.

Referring to his fight against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, he said, “Ever since I was released from jail (in the cash for vote scam) on bail, I have said the real game has started. Now the game has entered the final. I will fight against KCR and his family to see that dora raj comes to an end.
