Quit letter of Revanth Reddy not with assembly speaker yet

Mr Revanth Reddy had released copies of his letters of resignation to the Assembly and to the Telugu Desam at Amaravati on Saturday.

Hyderabad: The resignation letter purportedly submitted by Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy to his membership of the House has not reached Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary.

Mr Revanth Reddy had released copies of his letters of resignation to the Assembly and to the Telugu Desam at Amaravati on Saturday.

Confirming that the letter had not reached the Speaker’s office, a source said, “Revanth Reddy might have submitted the resignation letters to TD president and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, but we have not got anything as of now.”

There will be no delay in accepting the resignation letter provided Mr Revanth Reddy meets the Speaker in person and hands over the letter, the source said.

In case Mr Revanth Reddy sends the letter either by post or fax, the Speaker will need to verify its authenticity by directly talking to the legislator, the source said.

Mr Revanth Reddy on Sunday said he would not attend the Assembly session from Monday as he had resigned.
