TDP Strength Doubles After Naidu's Arrest, Claims Ex-Minister P. Narayana

AP High Court to issue a 41 A notice to Telugu Desam national general secretary Nara Lokesh in the Inner Ring Road issue

KAKINADA: Former minister P. Narayana claimed that the strength of the Telugu Desam Party has gone up two-fold after the arrest of the TD chief and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

He maintained that the ruling YSRC resorted to the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, unable to bear the tremendous response he had been receiving in recent times.

Narayana observed that the state advocate general asking the AP High Court to issue a 41 A notice to Telugu Desam national general secretary Nara Lokesh in the Inner Ring Road issue is the first victory of Telugu Desam.

Narayana, along with Nara Bhuvaneswari and Lokesh’s wife Brahmani, met Chandrababu Naidu on Friday at the Central Prison in Rajamahendravaram.

Later, Narayana told reporters that all sections of people in the state are unhappy with the ruling YSRC government. They are seeing as vindictive the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu just six months after the assembly general elections. “People are getting ready to support TD in the coming elections,” he remarked.

The former minister said he had no role in the Inner Ring Road issue, as he had lost 40 cents of the land that he had purchased in 2001 for Rs 7 crore. He came to know about losing his land when CRDA officials announced the alignment of the Inner Ring Road.

“How will I indulge in irregularities related to Inner Ring Road when I have lost the land,” he asked.

Speaking on the Jana Sena- TD alliance, Narayana said they will form a joint action committee to chalk out strategies for the political battle against ruling YSRC and also deal with legal cases along the way.
