Jagan Calls Upon People to be His Soldiers, Return YSRC to Power

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy came down heavily on Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, reiterating that the latter resorted to several irregularities during his five-year rule here.

These were evident in the AP Skill Development Corporation, the AP Fibre Grid, the Neeru Chettu, the Amaravati Inner Ring Road works, the Assigned lands issue and in the name of Amaravati capital construction, he said.

Addressing a public meeting here after disbursing the YSR Vahana Mitra funds, Jagan Mohan Reddy said Naidu resorte to the policy of plunder, stash and devour. I urge you all to become my soldiers and bring back the YSRC to power for another five years if you are convinced that you benefited from the welfare policies of this government,” he said.

The Chief Minister said, “This is a war between the government that has been implementing welfare schemes without any bias and the Opposition that orchestrated scam after scam; a war between the government that gave 30,76,000 house site pattas to the weaker sections and the opposition party that opposed it and moved courts; a war between the pro-poor government and the capitalists; and a war between the ruling party that wants the welfare schemes to continue and the opposition that wants to cheat the people after the elections.”

Affirming that 80 per cent of the DBT welfare amount was received by the SC, BC, ST and minority communities, Jagan Mohan Reddy said 83 per cent of the government jobs also went to them.

He added, “I don’t have the support of the media, the foster son or the gang of thieves. Plundering the state is not my policy. Don’t be tempted by the offers of shallow promises by the opposition. Your vote for YSRC will retain the pro-poor government,” he said.

Responding to the appeals of Vijayawada West MLA Vellampalli Srinivas, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 7 crore for extending the flood retaining wall to Krishna river, Rs 3.5 crore for constructing five Masjids and sanctioned funds for Kapu and Relli community halls besides an SC burial ground.

Transport minister P. Viswarup and scores of people’s representatives and senior officials participated in the programme.
